David Koma loves refined, feminine, sensual silhouettes. For autumn/winter 2015/16, he draws inspiration from the 60s and 70s. Dresses and tops are finished with ruffles at the end of sleeves and high collars, skirts are flared, jackets are ultra-short, and belts are made of vinyl. The curves of the body are always highlighted, and the waist is tightened. Black and camel dominate, although blue and orange make an appearance. The designer plays with the effect of macramé ropes and bows to add depth and volume to long, slender outfits. And let’s not forget the crystals embroidered on the sheaths at the end for evening sparkle. Of particular note: the graphic midnight blue jumpsuit. We’re looking forward to the designer’s second season as artistic director at Mugler, with the show scheduled for March in Paris.
