Henri Le Roux, chocolatier et caramélier breton, is opening its third Parisian boutique. This new gourmet space, designed by Kengo Kuma and Shusei Hasado, will open its doors at the end of November 2014.
Makoto Ishii, General Manager of Maison Henri Le Roux, has decided to set up shop at 52 rue Saint-Dominique in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. He called on the services of architect Kengo Kuma and Japanese artist-mason Shuhei Hasado.
“I asked Kengo Kuma to draw his inspiration from the evocation of nature in Brittany, the brand’s original terroir: wild coastlines, sandy beaches, driftwood washed ashore, megaliths, etc. As for Shuhei Hasado, we sent him a sample of fine sand from Quiberon beach in Tokyo, so that he could use it as inspiration for the walls and floor”.

This 40m2 space will be home to all the chocolate and caramel creations of Maison Henry Le Roux. The location of this third boutique, on rue Saint-Dominique, is a strategic one for Makoto Ishii, whose main aim is to build up a strong clientele in this beautiful Parisian district at the foot of the Eiffel Tower:
“In this area of rue Saint-Dominique, there’s a concentration of gourmet restaurants and high-end food stores. Local residents will appreciate the quality and originality of our products. There are also a lot of foreign tourists passing through: we’ll find our international clientele again.”
