Day one of the Haute Couture shows, with Jennifer Lopez invited to Versace. Day one of the Haute Couture shows. On arrival at the Chambre du Commerce & de l’Industrie in Paris, Jennifer Lopez poses with Donatella Versace on the steps, followed by the guests, dressed for the occasion in dresses and stilettos. The tone was set. On the catwalk, Mariacarla Boscono opens the show and creates quite a stir, in a long-skirted suit and black jacket with rounded sleeves, ending in a triangle with a tie at the back. Donatella plays with chic elegance, highlighting the house’s own codes while offering luxurious, modern tailoring. The half-jackets have a single arm with a long sleeve, while the bare shoulder is highlighted on the other side. The corset effect, golden curls and bangs are featured on pieces in black, white, midnight blue or violet. Long dresses feature long slits on one side, and cover the other pant leg. The graphic spirit is transformed into volume, with ball gowns in silk duchesse lined and covered with silicone, the latest of which is worn by supermodel Stella Tennant.
