Bouchra Jarrar’s couture version of the perfecto. Bouchra Jarrar revisits the classics of women’s wardrobes, and more particularly one element that recurs like a common thread: the perfecto, which the designer translates into a couture and luxurious version, in iridescent tweed or draped leather. The jacket takes on the look of a sleeveless dress or jacket, embroidered with feathers, accessorized with zippers or belted with a basque effect. Silky, supple leather for the ultimate in luxury. The cut, the handmade, is at the heart of her work, with pieces as if sculpted on the body. Column pants in fluid gray-green satin or powder-pink gabardine hug the silhouette. These are complemented by suspended dresses in tawny chiffon that seem to float gracefully over the body. In the cloister of the Lycée Henri IV, Bouchra Jarrar once again proved her mastery of proportions with a desirable, urban wardrobe.
