From April 26 to July 12, La Verrière will present an original installation by French contemporary artist Hubert Duprat. Specially conceived and produced for this Brussels venue, this 4th exhibition in the “des gestes de la pensée” cycle will take us on an empirical reflection on our vision of the appropriation of matter.

Hubert Duprat is a rare and original artist. His sculptures combine mineral, organic and plant elements with synthetic and industrial materials. A disturbing seduction seizes us at the sight of his works.

He both celebrates and criticizes the constituent characteristics of matter, that sort of natural talent of the world’s textures, through their illusionistic attributes highlighted in the form of barely-assisted ready-mades. This blend of modernity and tradition is reminiscent of the common thread running through the exhibitions presented by the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès: a desire “to support those who learn, master, transmit and explore creative gestures to build today’s world and invent tomorrow’s”.
The know-how of creation and the know-how of transmission will be present throughout the public’s visit, in front of works that play with ambiguity between the natural and the artificial.
