On March 7, 8 and 9, the Mondial du Tatouage 2014 will be held at the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris.
Boosted by an attendance of over 15,000 last year, the organizers have equipped the event with a new, larger space in order to welcome as many people as possible in the best possible conditions.
The Mondial du Tatouage is first and foremost a cultural event, designed to bring tattoo artists and their future customers closer together, but also a convivial one, with concerts and exhibitions.
This year, over 300 tattoo artists will be on hand, 40% of them new personalities. Each and every one of them, from 29 different countries, will be demonstrating their tattoo techniques and styles. Whether traditional or modern, symbolic or aesthetic, tattooing will be in the spotlight. Visitors come not only to discover new talent, but also to show off their tattoos, so you’re sure to be impressed!
Because tattooing is all about culture, a mix of the traditional and the modern, and a great deal of symbolism. It’s this cosmopolitan side that the Mondial du Tatouage aims to share with the general public, as well as showcasing the very best in tattooing.
This year’s honorary president of the Mondial is singer Tété, a tattoo enthusiast who has created the “Tattoo by Tété” show, a short program featuring guests talking about the symbolism of their tattoos. He will be joined by Tin-tin, President of the Syndicat National des Tatoueurs and a true artist in his field.
Tattoo competitions will be held throughout the Mondial, as well as rock concerts and an exhibition in partnership with the Musée du Quai Branly, featuring top tattoo artists.
