Lux* Belle Mare is a luxury hotel with a difference. Located on the east coast of Mauritius, the establishment offers a strong concept of playful and mischievous vacations. It sets itself apart from its competitors, appealing to couples and families alike. Visit of the place.

A made-to-measure welcome
When we arrive, we’re greeted by employees dressed from head to toe in white. Broad smiles and good humor. The quality of Mauritian service is no legend. We then discover our room. Like most of the hotel’s 174 other suites, it is modern and comfortable, measuring 60m2. It’s located in a small 2-storey building with a beautiful view over lush gardens and the beach.

The kids’ club is a real Lux highlight

True luxury also means leaving your children in good hands for a few hours. This is the case at Le Belle Mare, where a truly dynamic and attentive team looks after your little ones. Many activities punctuate the day. For example, I accompanied my son on a trip in a glass-bottomed boat to observe the fish in the lagoon. During the day, near the restaurant, there’s an ice-cream shack serving low-fat homemade ice creams, much to the children’s delight. In the evening, the entertainers can even take the children to dinner in the restaurant. The kids love it, and so do the parents.

The monumental swimming pool

The pool is really huge. It’s a dream pool. It overlooks the beach. Dozens of deckchairs are available. Hotel staff even come by to wipe your glasses.

Breakfast on the beach

During my stay, I had the pleasant experience of having breakfast right on the water. Viennese pastries, smoked marlin (the great local specialty), fresh fruit juice and crunchy waffles: you’re approaching paradise. Service is top-notch.

The hotel’s 2 à la carte restaurants offer Asian-inspired cuisine. The third restaurant is a buffet. The dining room is relatively large. Dishes are varied and refined. What’s more, the Spa is really top-notch, with massages that almost make you fall asleep.

All in all, the Lux* is its ability to satisfy couples eager to relax, water sports fans and children who won’t be bored.
