Grunge and punk are definitely the big trends this winter, as predicted by the latest fashion shows, so much so that a good number of fashion houses (and mass-market boutiques) are getting in on the act.
Tartan, the emblematic Scottish print and this season’s flagship, is the subject of a women’s capsule collection from Acne Studios, with the very modern cuts to which the Swedish brand is accustomed. Even if tartan directly evokes the punk movement, it’s good to know that the various tartans, which appeared at the end of the 16th century, originally represented clans and families.
