Top Gear hits French newsstands

Part 1.5Top Gear, the British car magazine already available in 30 countries including China, Belgium and Finland, has just published its first French issue.

Cédrik André, editor-in-chief, says that while initially the editorial line will be largely inspired by its English counterpart, he hopes that over time the French magazine will be able to distance itself from it and acquire its own vision. “We’ll have a big half of the magazine 100% French, and that proportion will continue to grow thereafter”.

In his opinion, Top Gear will show readers what no one else can see, the behind-the-scenes of the automotive world. Finally, the French version will be fun, pleasant and wacky, because “that’s part of the magazine’s DNA”.

The magazine’s first issue features some typically Top Gear content. For example, the first exclusive comparison between the three hypercars La Ferrari, Porsche 918 and McLaren P1. Also on the menu: a BMW M4/Lexus RCF duel, and a feature on the Aston Martin Vulcan and “track supercars”.

The magazine will appear every two months. The first May/June 2015 issue will be available on newsstands on April 30, priced at 4.95 euros.
