Aquilano.Rimondi was founded in September 2008. A perfect symbiosis of the highly creative minds of Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi, it embodies the perfect balance between bespoke tradition and research. Crafted from sophisticated fabrics, each piece emphasizes the femininity of the silhouette, combining generous volumes with refined cuts.
Tommaso Aquilano graduated from the Academy of Costume and Fashion in Rome, where he learned to approach fashion in the spirit of couture. Roberto Rimondi graduated from Istitute Secoli, a fashion school in Milan, where he benefited from a more traditional training focused on cut work.
After graduating, both began their careers working for major Italian ready-to-wear brands.
Thanks to their privileged relationships with some of the world’s most renowned editors, such as Anna Wintour, Franca Sozzani and Christiane Arp, they have seen their popularity grow.
In 2006, they took up the reins as artistic directors of Malo, an international brand known for its luxury cashmere. In 2008, they were appointed artistic directors of Gianfranco Ferrè’s women’s collection, and shortly afterwards also of the men’s collection.
For the Spring Summer 2016 collection, the house of Aquilano Rimondi offers us current, minimalist looks.
