A few weeks ago, we visited rue Tronchet to discover the world of exclusive Guerlain fragrances.
The Rue Tronchet boutique plunges you into the heart of Guerlain perfumery.
For the first time, Guerlain is offering a boutique dedicated to its vocation as a perfumer, with all its rare “Les Exclusifs” collections presented in majesty, and advice from Perfume Experts for a highly personal choice.
Everyone knows Guerlain’s legendary “great classics”, but there are also more secret collections, available in France only at Boutiques Parisiennes Guerlain.
Exclusive Perfumes are to Guerlain what Haute Couture is to ready-to-wear: a veritable “scent laboratory”, where the Guerlain perfumer works passionately and without limits on his fetish raw materials. The quintessence of the art of perfume… These rare creations are a great success with enthusiasts, and Guerlain has decided to make them better known. From now on, the Guerlain Boutique on rue Tronchet will be “staging” them in an eventful way, magnificently revealing a rich and desirable offering. The names of each fragrance alone invite a wealth of evocations, such as Cuir Beluga, Arsène Lupin Voyou, Oriental Brûlant… to name but a few.
Rare fragrances and exclusive moments
The new look of the Tronchet Boutique is both refined and friendly, allowing customers to discover their own perfume on their own, and then be accompanied to get to know it better. Flasks of flagship fragrances are displayed on large wall panels, their nuances enhanced by subtle lighting.
The rest of the range is presented on a large central bar. Each collection is accompanied by short texts that are both informative and poetic. Each fragrance is captioned, with a few lines describing its olfactory universe and the major notes of its harmony. You can also discover some of the raw materials.
The olfactory encounter begins with small white ceramic cloches, to offer an intimate discovery and keep the fragrances perfectly captive. Then, if you want to take them with you, you can use the classic perfume buttons.
These presentations reflect the Maison’s pedagogical approach and respect for its know-how.
In particular, we discovered LES ÉLIXIRS CHARNELS
With the Elixirs Charnels collection, Guerlain boldly celebrates the desires and pleasures of a woman passionately in love. A rebellious soul, she wears a bewitching Chypre Fatal. Fiery, she wears just a drop of Oriental Brûlant. Tender and delicate, she wraps herself in a Romantic Floral nectar. Mischievous, she plays with a naughty Gourmand filter.
To celebrate the art of French kissing, Thierry Wasser has created French Kiss, his new elixir: An original glossy floral elixir with notes of desire… and lipstick; a bewitching accord with scents of raspberry, iris and heliotrope.
“PERFUME CONSULTATION” AND “INVITATION FROM THE PERFUMER”, TWO VERY PERSONAL ENCOUNTERS.
Guerlain offers two approaches to help each visitor find his or her perfume. The Perfume Consultation, which lasts around 10 minutes, is offered free of charge and without appointment. In just a few questions, the Perfume Expert helps each visitor discover his or her olfactory universe and the Guerlain creation that best matches the facets of his or her personality. “It’s the man or woman who makes the perfume, not the other way around”, as Sylvaine Delacourte, Guerlain’s Fragrance Development Director, once said.
L’Invitation du Parfumeur is a genuine perfume itinerary that allows you to define your “olfactory signature” at the end of a one-hour tour, by appointment only, in a small private room separate from the Boutique.
The experience is divided into three stages, beginning with the discovery of the four major universes defined by Guerlain: Fresh, Floral, Oriental and Mysterious. The exchange continues with a journey to the heart of emotions and memories, thanks to questions and evocations that enable the Perfume Expert to pinpoint the personality of his or her interlocutor. Three proposals are then selected to find “the perfume of a lifetime”.
Finally, the new Boutique on rue Tronchet continues to offer the full Guerlain range (legendary fragrances, exclusive perfumes, make-up and skincare), while “starring” its unique olfactory expertise.
And, because the Maison has gone to great lengths to pamper its guests and make this a very “exclusive” experience, everyone – whether or not they’ve made a purchase – leaves with gifts to prolong the discovery: trial doses, a scented fan, a bag mirror, a workshop menu…
