Papier d’Arménie: an enchanting fragrance for the home

Have you heard of Armenian paper? A lovely alternative to incense sticks and a totally indescribable, bewitching fragrance that transports and relaxes you.

A short history of Armenian paper :

The story of Papier d’Arménie began in the 19th century. During a trip to Armenia, Auguste Ponsot noticed that the inhabitants perfumed and disinfected their homes by burning Benzoin (Benzoin is actually a mixture of the resins of different plants). Seduced by this traditional and ecological practice, he decided to import the product to France.

His associate, pharmacist Henri Rivier, discovered that dissolving benzoin in 90° alcohol produced a persistent scent. The addition of perfume produced a pleasant, long-lasting aromatic blend. All that remained was to find a medium. Blotting paper absorbs the mixture while retaining the original benzoin scent, and burns slowly without bursting into flame.

To use Armenian paper, all you have to do is take a small piece of paper that detaches from its support (a small notebook) and simply burn it.

The fragrance of the paper will then perfume the whole room in your home. Say goodbye to chemical air fresheners, with Armenian paper it’s all natural for a healthy home and purified air.

You quickly get a taste for Armenian paper, its scent is very relaxing and soothing, and there’s not an evening goes by when I don’t burn a strip of paper. It’s become a ritual, creating an atmosphere of calm and well-being in my home.

On the brand’s official website http://papierdarmenie.fr you’ll find not only the traditional paper notebooks, but also candles, gift sets with burners in different colors and, at the moment, a special Christmas set.
