The emblematic Polynesian adventure contestant is realizing his dream and launching his foodtruck at the end of June, with new gastronomic adventures in sight!
Originally from the island of Taha’a, Teheiura, a chef by profession, has just invested in his own foodtruck, the Manatoa, which means “warrior’s spirit” in Tahitian, with the support of the airline Air Tahiti Nui.
A mobile truck, turquoise blue like that of the Polynesian lagoons, on board which he puts his talents as a chef to good use for his customers, with whom he is in direct contact, an essential aspect for Teheiura.
Respectful of the environment, he offers seasonal produce and recipes that evolve according to his moods. The idea is simple: to mix dishes from France, where he has lived for nearly 20 years, with island flavors, to share and discover the tasty Polynesian cuisine that is still little known.
It’s a blend, a crossroads of flavors with Asian, French and Polynesian origins. Teheiura proposes dishes such as exotic duck breast, sweet potato and potato fries, chicken chips with lemon sauce and plain rice…dishes that can be found in his cookbook “Aventure Culinaire” published by Au Vent des Îles, released in December 2014. A menu that adapts to the seasons, a delicious blend of Polynesian and local produce.
Le Manatoa is available throughout the Hérault department. Privatization for private events (min 25pers), trade shows, festivals… is available at weekends ([email protected]).
