In a warehouse setting, crammed with jukeboxes, neon lights, transistors and old TV models from the 60s, Riccardo Tisci emphasizes the streetwear vibe he loves. The collection is super sophisticated. The Spanish dancer’s hair is lacquered with tattoo-like heart clasps, framing the pierced face. The dresses are all belted, with a few clever cut-outs revealing daring transparencies. The colors that complement the black are warm, summed up in peacock feather prints. Smocks and ruffles soften the rigor of perfect cuts. And the designer’s Italian nonchalance is revealed in the attitude of a shoulder bared by a chiffon blouse. Finishes and details are superbly crafted, and he confirms his talent as a tailor. He describes his collection as a blend of “Victorian and Chola girl”. The recognizable Victorian style from his early days at Givenchy.
