Perched on a mountainside, La Folie Douce lives up to its name.

An anti-depressant, a trendy and accessible microcosm, this world-famous establishment is to be enjoyed without moderation – but be warned, too much alcohol can be dangerous to your health.

If I tell you that the establishment described here has: 3 restaurants, 1 wine cellar, a Mumm chalet and a terrace that turns into a dance floor from 3 to 5 p.m., you're thinking of La Folie Douce in Val D'Isère. Win! You're right.
Let me tell you about this temple of celebration and exuberance, where the impossible becomes possible in the hands of a crack team of professionals.

First and foremost a restaurant complex, La Folie Douce caters for all tastes and budgets, with a snack bar, a chic and tasty canteen, a neo-bistro that is none other than La Fruitière, and a wine cellar where fine wines rub shoulders with exceptional cheeses that are matured on site.

A real complex with a chic, relaxed and festive atmosphere.

Kely Starlight, a true icon in her field, heats up the crowds with her voice and choreography, often taking the audience to task. This is followed by the arrival of the professional dancers, decked out in improbable costumes designed by Stephan Hubrecht.

These performers string together choreographed routines - 6 different shows a week - with lively rhythms to delight the eyes, backed up by the jazzy vocals of singers from a variety of repertoires.

After the 20 minutes - always too short - of the show, the après-ski begins.

sweet madness

The music changes register. The skiers gather around a glass. The atmosphere ignites and all the sweet madness of the place comes to the fore. The dancers and singers continue their artistic prowess, the spectators' bodies free themselves and the tables are assailed, not to sit around but to serve as podiums.

Good-natured and uninhibited, we let loose to Club Music created exclusively for and by La Folie Douce DJs.

The first in a long line, the Val D'Isère establishment is the Folies Douces innovation hub, and recently opened a Chalet Mumm.
Overlooking the dance floor, this bay-window chalet is decorated with plexiglass chandeliers and large wooden tables (with a storage box for ski accessories), and offers a breathtaking view of both the slopes and the dance floor.

Once the hands stop at 5pm, the magic ends and it's with a heavy heart that we have to stop dancing to get back on the skis or gondola. Glasses are put down, skis are put on and minds are already thinking about tomorrow and the new shows they won't miss for anything in the world.

A Folie more furious than Douce, to be discovered at the top of the Daille gondola.
