Hyatt Centric La Rosière, ideally located in one of the most charming resorts in the Alps
The first Hyatt Centric in France opens onto a unique ski paradise linking France and Italy: the San Bernardo area. An address of luxurious comfort, imagined by a Franco-English couple in love with the mountains, the Hyatt Centric La Rosière hotel invites guests to a new travel experience based on the exploration of a territory and a terroir, sharing and the desire to (re)connect.
A unique mountain experience to explore and rediscover yourself
The first Hyatt Centric will open in the family resort of La Rosière, 20 minutes from Bourg Saint Maurice, on December 15.
A first-of-its-kind accommodation concept in France, Hyatt Centric is setting up base camp in the French Alps and taking guests on a journey of discovery through authentic territory in the heart of a little-known resort. Aimed at modern adventurers seeking activities at the heart of the action, the Hyatt Centric brand is betting on new territories to explore together.
Launched in 2015 by Hyatt Hotels Corporation, the Hyatt Centric brand now comprises 15 establishments worldwide; each hotel customized to the destination. After Chicago, New York, New Orleans, Waikiki (Hawaii), Miami, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Istanbul, Guatemala City and La Rosière, further openings are already scheduled in Spain from November, as well as in Peru and Chile in 2018.
The Plummer family
French-English developers Marielle and Nicholas Plummer are passionate about the mountains, and know them like the back of their skis. They fell in love with the Tarentaise valley in the late 80s, when they discovered La Rosière.
Charmed by the site and by the legend of Hannibal and his 40 elephants – the resort is said to have been crossed by the general conquering Rome in 218 BC – the couple set about building their first chalets in Peisey-Vallandry and a 4-star hotel in Belle Plagne. Their 4-star hotel project, rooted in sharing, exploring local culture and reconnecting with others, appealed to the Hyatt group, which became their partner.
La Rosière, an authentic resort
Launched in the early 50s, the resort perched at an altitude of 1850 m (and culminating at 2641 m) saw its first inhabitants move in and its first ski lifts go up. Preferring stone and wood to concrete, La Rosière preserves the beauty of its landscape and offers breathtaking views of the most beautiful panorama in the French Alps.
A unique panorama
Facing due south, in a region that enjoys the same number of sunny days as the Côte d’Azur, the Hyatt Centric La Rosière hotel enjoys an exceptional mountain location.
The San Bernardo area
In the early 1980s, the French resort joined forces with its Italian neighbor La Thuile. The result was a vast 3,000-hectare ski area. Straddling the border between France and Italy, the San Bernardo area gives skiers from both countries access to 160 kilometers of ski runs, comprising long, gentle, sunny runs on the French side and a sportier sector to the north, on the Val d’Aoste side. In 2018, an additional 10 kilometers of pistes (red and black)
will be added on the French side.
Optimum snow conditions
Just a few kilometers as the crow flies from Mont-Blanc and the Col du Petit Saint-Bernard, the resort enjoys maximum snow cover from mid-December to the end of April, and is one of France’s top snow-covered resorts. 7 meters for the 2016 winter season, and in excess of 10 meters in some years.
On the balcony
The Hyatt Centric La Rosière hotel is ideally placed to admire one of the finest panoramas in the Alps, with panoramic views over the Tarentaise valley. It’s a place of contemplation where you can observe the Bellevarde massif,
the Beaufortin massif and its highest point, Le Roignais, Tignes at the bottom of the valley, all lit up by authentic mountain villages such as Sainte-Foy or Villaroger.
On winter evenings, the mountains take on a festive air, with white-coated fir trees and luminous houses lighting up the space; an exceptional postcard that reconnects you with nature in an instant.
A hotel connected to mountain life
With 47 rooms and 22 suites (including 12 dedicated to families and 10 de Luxe from 58m² to 76m²), the Hyatt Centric La Rosière combines authenticity with all the services of a 4-star luxury hotel, new to La Rosière.
To explore local and Italian cuisine, two restaurants – the trattoria Tavola and the bistronomic table H40. Dedicated to well-being, the Summit Spa and its 420m² of space with swimming pool and Jacuzzis pamper body and mind.
