Always an eagerly-awaited show, Céline is one of the labels that counts, with a vision of fashion that’s as sharp as ever. The winter season once again confirms this. Designer Phoebe Philo plays with superimposed flared skirts and satin dresses with thin straps. Comfort is the order of the day, with oversized straight sweaters and wadded coats with retractable sleeves. A few small, old-fashioned prints, for silk blouses, worn with full, point-cut skirts. A zebra print makes for a femme fatale in a straight coat. Leather gathers at the waist for an ivory coat. Feathers appear on the bottom of a dress with openwork embroidery. Ties escape from the garments and float in the air. Delicate yet powerful. Of note: the leather shoulder bag, the future “hit bag” that will hit the pavement, and the white sneaker, THE shoe of the show!
