At Sacai, you always enter a special, intimate world that’s at once serious, creative and crazy. For Chitose Abe, the Japanese founder and designer, shapes and colors take on their full dimension. For next winter, there’s a lot of talk about wrap-around overcoats, with high collars and linings protruding from fur coats. It’s all in the details, like the arms that seem to stand out, the mix of materials, the elaborate leathers added at the back. Pleats become light on skirts and dresses. Bermuda shorts are loose-fitting. Knits become twisted. Fluorescent shades of pink and yellow appear in lines on curvaceous ensembles, adding a touch of bright color. A precise collection from a Japanese fashion house that’s making a name for itself. Of note: these pants-tights with platform shoes.
