Public School duo Dao-Yi Chow & Maxwell Osborne present an intimate show in the heart of Manhattan, surrounded by family and friends. Their goal: to create a cool, urban, New York style that’s unisex. Despite their growing notoriety (they just won the Woolmark Prize last month) and the presence of influential personalities and editors, the Public School duo Dao-Yi Chow & Maxwell Osborne presented an intimate show in the heart of Manhattan, surrounded by family and friends. Their goal: to create a fashion that’s mixed, cool, urban and so New York. Silhouettes were elongated, with large pleated skirts worn over jackets and parkas. Shirts become tunic-style dresses, worn next to the skin for girls, or over pants and shorts for boys. Layers are the order of the day, as are hoodies that become down jackets. Felt caps and chunky scarves were added for style, but also to combat New York’s bitter cold. Note the colorful geometric patterns that contrast with the predominantly black and gray wardrobe, and the XXL down jacket cape that can almost be transformed into a sleeping bag…
