Since its creation, Maison Langlois-Chateau has specialized in Crémant de Loire wines. We present our 2013 vintage of Quadrille, a cuvée for discerning connoisseurs in search of gustatory joy and gastronomic pleasures.
Quadrille evokes a dance figure from the Cadre Noir de Saumur performed by 4 horses. This cuvée is an experiment combining 4 grape varieties, 4 terroirs and 4 years of aging for 4 times the pleasure.
In the Loire region, the 2013 vintage was complicated to manage with its many bad weather conditions. However, the grapes destined for Crémant were harvested before the heavy rains and were very healthy, with good acidity.
It is a blend of 50% Chenin Blanc, 20% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay and 15% Cabernet Franc. The grapes come from the best parcels of silico-limestone & clay-limestone terroirs.
The wine is matured using the traditional method, with a second fermentation in the bottle and maturation on the lees for a minimum of 4 years. Cellar ageing lasts a minimum of 6 months after disgorging, to harmonize all the aromas.
Quadrille 2013 has a clear, luminous color with fine bubbles. The nose is marked by notes of brioche, hazelnut and dried fruit. The palate is fine and unctuous. There’s good acidity underpinned by lemon and raspberry aromas.
Ideal as an aperitif or at the table with fish in sauce or white meats.
