The Prix LVMH pour les Jeunes Créateurs de Mode announces that the Prix Spécial du Jury has been renamed the Prix Karl Lagerfeld.
Delphine Arnault comments: “Karl Lagerfeld, Artistic Director of Fendi since 1965, has been with us since the creation of this Prize. He has been totally committed to it from the outset, passing on his enthusiasm and energy. The Karl Lagerfeld Prize is an obvious extension of these years of complicity and exchange, and a tribute to his unique creative genius.”
Awarded at the same time as the LVMH Young Fashion Creators Prize, the Karl Lagerfeld Prize is given to one of the finalists whose creative talent has particularly caught the attention of the Jury. The winner receives a cash prize of 150,000 euros and a year’s mentoring by a dedicated LVMH team in a number of areas of expertise (intellectual property, sourcing, production and distribution, image and communication, marketing, etc.).
Conceived by the LVMH group since its inception in 2014 as a genuine patronage of young fashion designers from around the world, the LVMH Prize has immediately enjoyed immense international success, and has become a major and essential player in supporting creation. In 2019, the Prize received more than 1,700 entries, from a hundred different countries.
