SPRING 2018 “Seaside Memories”
Clean lines and elegant stripes meet the classic 22/4 adaptation with
the elegance of the sea meeting the sky in this playful new spring/summer collection,
which recalls the nostalgia of the seaside experience. Nautical notions such as
eyelets and ropes are the designer’s signature, drawing attention to detail. The
graphic design elements, such as the logo with the seahorse exclusively designed inside
silk and light, smooth cotton, bring a touch of whimsy and sentimentality to the
collection. All this recalls the experience of swimming for the first time in a German childhood.
Striped textiles in daywear evoke images of chairs,
umbrellas and beach towels, while the sparkling, shiny details of evening pieces
reflect the appearance of light dancing on the surface of the water.
“I wanted to develop a mix between textiles and colors on this collection to
accentuate and encapsulate the enjoyment of summer vacations,” explains designer Stephanie Hahn.
“It’s about nostalgia, the beach, but also elegance.
A sparkling evening gown recalls the dramatic beauty not only of the ocean itself,
but also of iconic images such as Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus”.

22/4. Men’s and women’s suits are a nod to 19th
century swimwear, accessorized with swim caps, eye-catching beaded jewelry, waterproof
beach bags on shoulder straps, bottle openers and fun nautical basics like
the cork-bearing pendant, this season resonates with the feeling of vacation and is as
impactful as a wave breaking on shore.
A palette of seaside blues and whites greets the eye with a new sense of summer and the
restless motion of the ocean meeting the sky. Atlantic blue, azure, navy,
dark blue and turquoise represent the swirling waters paired with classic
beach tones such as brilliant white, sand, white sea spray and pearl. Bursts of seagrass green
and seaweed tones give a surprising earthiness, also contrasted
by prints and palettes evoking the glittering world living beneath the waves. This season’s
materials are all about warm weather and beach memories, incorporating high quality
textiles such as light tropical Italian wool, viscose blends,
lurex, light and heavy Italian cotton and silk.
