Because he’s always on the cutting edge, constantly on the alert and thirsting for knowledge, Karl Lagarfeld reigns over fashion and seems irreplaceable. Chanel, Fendi…Karl’s projects are countless, and his silhouette has become a veritable trademark, recognized the world over. The secret of his longevity: an approach to life as a space for discovery, exceptional collaborations and a great deal of talent.

After filming the Fendi show using a drone, Karl Lagarfeld once again embraces the best of technological innovation and adds Periscope to the palette of must-haves. Periscope is a new app for sharing and discovering live video from a smartphone. Launched in March on iOS and on Android last month, it is described by its creator as “the closest thing to teleportation”. Allowing live sharing, Chanel pays tribute to its customers and, above all, to those who love its collections. A democratization of the catwalk, short of the Grand Palais. With the help of these gadgets, it’s “as if” you were there. This instantaneous effect, sought after by the house’s loyal followers, reflects the magnitude and ceremonial aspect of the Chanel fashion show.

In addition to a range of emblematic ambassadors of the house, who held the show during the runway shows (Vanessa Paradis and her daughter Lily-Rose, Oscar-winning actress Julianne Moore, Kirsten Stewart and model Lara Stone), it was the charming Caroline de Maigret who took control of the periscope application. She may be a Parisian, but her humor and quirkiness make us want to chat with her over a glass of wine. Her book “How to be a Parisian wherever you are”, co-written with Anne Berest, Audrey Diwan and Sophie Max, is a real hit, and challenges the image of the scornful Parisian.

The artist lives with the times, and doesn’t see them as a pipe dream.
