French fashion house Louis Vuitton presents the face that will embody its new fall campaign: American actress Michelle Williams. We discovered her in the film Brokeback Mountain, saw her in Shutter Island alongside Leonardo Dicaprio, and saw her in My Week with Marilyn, where her apt interpretation of Marilyn Monroe earned her a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination. Michelle Williams stands out for her talent and her singular choice of complex, audacious roles. An actress who is fast becoming a fashion icon, renowned for her retro style, a touch of H itchcockian. So it was only natural that French brand Louis Vuitton turned to her to showcase its creations.

In a series of photographs signed by Peter Lindberg, Michelle Williams sublimates the new W and Capucines handbags. An innovative combination of materials, the W model with its original graphic lines embodies a modern vision of the emblematic Monogram, while the Capucines bag, imbued with timeless femininity, pays homage to the House’s savoir-faire in leather goods. Magnified by the singular beauty of Michelle Williams, dressed in a lace jumpsuit and masculine-looking coat from the Autumn-Winter 2013 collection.

This new Louis Vuitton advertising campaign will be unveiled in magazines around the world, starting in September for the launch of the W bag and October for the Capucines model.

In the meantime, take a look at the making-of video for this campaign:
