Located on the Place de la Bastille, Brasserie Les Grandes Marches has had a turbulent past in recent years. Taken over by the Joulie group in November 2012, the place is enjoying a new lease of life. A table !
On the terrace that evening, a rather elegant clientele of thirty-somethings. The weather is mixed, but the place is full. We opt for a cool drink with a beautiful view of the Place de la Bastille. Then it’s time to order and make your Cornelian choices. For starters, I’m tempted by a succulent red tuna tartare with sesame seeds. The menu is full of temptations. One of the brasserie’s strengths is its seafood section. Oyster lovers will be delighted.
We follow with a very tender fillet of beef, cooked to perfection. A classic choice.
For dessert, we finish with a Panna Cotta with a scoop of Barbapapa ice cream. Service was decent without being flamboyant. A pleasant evening.
All in all, Les Grandes Marches is a sure bet. A quality brasserie with a menu that’s not extravagant in terms of boldness, but which can’t fail to delight gourmets.
