Winner of the Palme d’Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, Tunisian director Abdellatif Kechiche’s La Vie d’Adèle tells the love story between Adèle, a fifteen-year-old girl played by Adèle Exarchopoulos, and Emma, a mysterious, bluesy-haired girl played by Léa Seydoux.
Abdellatif Kechiche’s fifth feature is inspired by Julie Maroh’s comic strip “Le Bleu est une couleur chaude”, which won the Fnac-SNCF Audience Award at the 38th Angoulême International Comics Festival.
In this film, the erotic power of the explicit sexual scenes is attenuated by the delicate, elegant directorial style, the many cultivated references and the spontaneous recitation of Adèle Exarchopoulos and Léa Seydoux.
A film that’s already considered a “cult” and will be available in French cinemas from October 9, 2013.
