LVMH ANNOUNCES THE WINNERS OF THE 2014 LVMH PRIZE
LVMH and its Houses have always been keen to stimulate creativity, and it is with this vision in mind that the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers was launched in 2013 and will be renewed in 2015.

International in scope, this unique concept is open to designers under the age of 40, with at least two marketed women’s and men’s collections to their credit. The jury, made up of leading names in fashion, has the privilege of identifying the most talented candidate, who will receive a 300,000 euro grant and twelve months’ personalized support from the Group’s teams.
LVMH also rewards three young fashion school graduates, offering them the chance to join the creative team of one of the Group’s Houses for a year, in addition to a 10,000 euro scholarship.
The jury for the Prix LVMH pour les Jeunes Créateurs de Mode, made up of seven artistic directors from LVMH Group companies – Nicolas Ghesquière (Louis Vuitton), Marc Jacobs (Marc Jacobs), Karl Lagerfeld (Fendi), Humberto Leon (Kenzo), Phoebe Philo (Céline), Raf Simons (Dior), Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy) – as well as Delphine Arnault (deputy CEO of Louis Vuitton), Jean-Paul Claverie (advisor to Bernard Arnault and director of patronage at LVMH), and Pierre-Yves Roussel (Chairman and CEO of Fashion Group LVMH), has chosen the winner of its first 2014 edition: Thomas Tait.
“The jury was won over by Thomas Tait’s work and personality. He is a very talented designer. I am delighted that LVMH is able to help him develop his House. I have no doubt, however, that all the other finalists for the Prize will also have a great future, and I wish them every success”. Remarks by Delphine Arnault.
In addition to the 300,000 euro prize money, Thomas Tait will receive a year’s mentoring from a dedicated LVMH team.
Given the high standard of the competition, this year the jury chose to award two special prizes to Miuniku and Hood by Air, who were each awarded 100,000 euros and a year’s mentoring.
Finally, three fashion school graduates are honored: Peter Do (Fashion Institute of Technology, New York), Teruhiro Hasegawa (Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London) and Flavien Juan Nunez (La Cambre, Brussels, and L’Institut Français de la Mode, Paris). They each win 10,000 euros and a one-year contract in the studio of one of the LVMH group’s Houses. Peter Do at Céline, Teruhiro Hasagawa at Givenchy, Flavien Juan Nunez at Christian Dior.
The schools of the prizewinners are also awarded the sum of 10,000 euros. This gesture marks LVMH’s fervent support for the educational teams and establishments that enable fashion to renew itself and achieve high levels of excellence.
