Renowned Chinese designer Laurence Xu presented his haute couture collection at the Chinese Cultural Center for the opening of the first Sino-French Fashion and Culture Festival.
Organized by the Prince Gong’s Palace Museum in Beijing, the event celebrated the emergence of China’s creative industry on the international scene. From the gardens of the Palace built in the 19th century, Laurence Xu unveiled her “Prince Kung’s Palace” line, blending traditional embroidery with Western cuts.
Inspired by the paintings and architectural heritage of Beijing’s famous palace, the collection pays tribute to the refined Chinese lifestyle. On the eve of the partner museum’s 40th anniversary, it illustrates the country’s age-old savoir-faire.
This exceptional show delighted the Parisian public, opening a week dedicated to exchanges between the Chinese and French fashion scenes.
