This selection of 24 masterpieces is the first in a series of free temporary virtual exhibitions available via The Frame TV Art Store.
Following the announcement of the global partnership between Samsung and the Musée du Louvre on September 16, Samsung Electronics France and the world’s largest museum unveil “Belles du Louvre”.
From mid-October and for a period of three months, owners of a The Frame in France will be able to discover and enjoy 24 emblematic works from the Louvre free of charge. They have been selected based on the book Belles du Louvre by Vincent Pomarède, curator of the Musée du Louvre and deputy general administrator of the Musée du Louvre, who wanted to show how female personalities had an effect on artists’ creativity, and how painters drew inspiration from them to create poetic universes. Each work will also be accompanied by explanations enabling users to discover the history behind it, to deepen their knowledge of art history.
Other temporary virtual exhibitions will be offered by Samsung Electronics France and the Louvre Museum as part of their partnership; the program will be presented at a later date.
“Samsung is constantly expanding the number of works available via the Art Store through partnerships with major players in the art world. These include the Magnum agency, YellowKorner, the Prado Museum, the Van Gogh Museum and, more recently, the Louvre. While owners of a The Frame can now access 60 works from their TV wherever they are in the world, we wanted to go even further in France. By offering free temporary exhibitions like the “Belles du Louvre”, we’re helping to make the Louvre’s treasures as widely known as possible, and to make art more accessible to The Frame owners. “explains Guillaume Rault, Vice President Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronics France.
