Le Blanc de Blancs 2014
The Quintessence of Chardonnay in an Exceptional Year
Cuvée Le Blanc de Blancs accurately reflects the personality of exceptional Côte des Blancs vintages. The House’s signature cuvée, it is produced in limited quantities, only in the most expressive years.
Cellar Master Caroline Latrive expresses with harmony and precision the nobility of Chardonnay from a selection of the best Côte des Blancs vintages.
The blend is 100% Chardonnay in the Grands Crus of Chouilly, Cramant and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger , and in the Premiers Crus of Cuis and Grauves.
2014 was a superb year for Côte des Blancs Chardonnays. A very homogeneous vintage, the grapes ripened perfectly and produced an abundant harvest, particularly in the Grands Crus villages.
“After a winter without winter, a spring worthy of a summer, and an autumnal August, this was an unexpected harvest, thanks to the 4 sunny weeks preceding the first pruning shears! Caroline Latrive
Long ageing on lees for 6 years in the cellar and a low dosage of 6g/l make Le Blanc de Blancs a unique champagne.
Blanc de Blancs 2014 reveals a bright, luminous color with white gold highlights and fine bubbles.
Its nose expresses great aromatic freshness, supported by a bouquet of tangy notes of orange blossom, yuzu zest and white peach accompanied by a subtle infusion of aniseed freshness and lime blossom punctuated by ginger.
A fresh, lively attack underlines a dazzling youthfulness that continues on a full, gourmet palate of white fruits, acacia honey with a hint of pastry and discreet brioche. The long, persistent finish is marked by the chalky minerality typical of the Côte des Blancs, with notes of grapefruit, blood orange and delicate salinity.
Great purity and freshness accompanied by a silky texture, the expression of the AYALA signature.
An epicurean aperitif par excellence, Le Blanc de Blancs 2014 is also the perfect accompaniment to sea bream ceviche with lemon, prawn risotto or rosemary-braised veal fondant.
The Blanc de Blancs 2014 is sold in good wine shops at the public price of 55 euros.
