Launch of the OPPO Reno4 series, the avant-garde series for the 5G era.

OPPO, a leading brand in the smartphone market, today unveiled the Reno4 series. The event, broadcast online, revealed the three smartphones in this new range – Reno4 Pro, Reno4 and Reno4 Z.

• OPPO Reno4 and Reno4 Pro feature Ultra Night and Ultra Stable 3.0 video modes, for outstanding movie quality in any situation. They also feature 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 recharging technology, enabling them to be fully charged in just 36 minutes.
• With its dual 5G mode and incredibly fluid 120 Hz screen, OPPO Reno4 Z brings together the latest technologies in an aesthetically pleasing design.

OPPO collaborates with artist Stéphane Ashpool and inaugurates RenoLab

Instead of contenting itself with an ordinary launch, OPPO has decided to take advantage of the release of the Reno4 range to inaugurate, in each European country, a new privileged collaborative space: RenoLab.

With this new platform, OPPO aims to challenge conventional smartphone design by reaching out to trendsetters and young visionaries. By giving them the creative tools to share their ideas, the brand intends to develop more than just products, and find the unique formula for tomorrow’s smartphone.

This is the dynamic behind the Reno4 series. The first artist invited to RenoLab, French artist and designer Stéphane Ashpool, creator of the Pigalle Paris label, shared with OPPO his free and daring vision of fashion, as well as his boundless creativity. In keeping with the Reno spirit, these qualities have resulted in the creation of the Reno Bag, a colorful special-edition bag characteristic of the new Reno4 smartphones.

On the creative process behind the creation of the Reno Bag, Stéphane confides: “This collaboration came about quite spontaneously. We discussed together the artistic direction we wanted to take, which would revolve around the new Reno smartphone. Inspired by the phone you have to carry all the time, we decided to create a bag just for the Reno, while retaining the brand’s identity, which is original, colorful, fun and full of hope.”

Uncompromising shooting

The video experience provided by the Reno4 series has been completely redesigned. New features have been added to Reno4 and Reno4 Pro, enabling users to film with ease in any situation.

To reduce blur and improve the clarity of night shots, OPPO Reno4 Pro introduces Ultra Night video mode, which, coupled with Sony’s ultra-wide-angle 120° IMX708 lens, allows you to capture larger scenes with a much higher level of detail. Reno4 Pro also boasts a 1/2.43″ sensor with a pixel size of 1.4 microns, enabling it to find more light in the darkest conditions.

Reno4 Pro incorporates a new Ultra Night algorithm, which improves screen brightness by 74.4% and image clarity by 33.7% when shooting at night, for sharper, more detailed results.

The latest, improved version of the Ultra Stable video mode absorbs jolts even more effectively to shoot high-quality movies in the most hectic situations. Whether for sports or adventure, Reno4 Pro offers tenfold possibilities: with an ultra-wide-angle rear camera and front sensor that’s also stabilized, taking group selfies, making a timelapse on the move or capturing panoramic scenes has never been easier.

OPPO Reno4 is equipped with a 3+1 photographic system comprising a 48 MP high-definition main sensor, a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 13 MP telephoto lens and laser autofocus. Optically stabilized, the main lens – Sony IMX586 – turns this system into a formidable creative arsenal.

OPPO Reno4 also boasts Ultra Night and Ultra Stable 3.0 video modes, as well as a 48 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP system with laser autofocus. What’s more, the 32 MP + 2 MP dual front lens is equipped with AI Portrait, an algorithm dedicated to creating consistently good selfies.

Finally, on the post-production side, the Reno4 series comes with Soloop. This video-editing application, equipped with no fewer than 10 new cinematic filters, lets you create films of remarkable quality yourself, and automatically generates them from videos in the library.

SuperVOOC 2.0 recharge for unlimited photo sessions

A leader in the field of fast recharging with renowned performance and repeated records, SuperVOOC 2.0 technology is featured on Reno4 and Reno4 Pro models. With a power output of 65W, performance has been doubled compared with the previous 30W unit, enabling the smartphone to be fully recharged in just 36 minutes. Those who use their smartphone all day long, or during intensive photo shoots, have nothing to fear.

What’s more, thanks to the intelligent power-saving mode coupled with the OVision algorithm, the OPPO Reno4 Pro’s battery is optimized by 40% when shooting. Finally, by analyzing the user’s sleep, the device slows down and optimizes the battery by 10% during the night.

Ultra-slim design for a comfortable grip

Although equipped with SuperVOOC 2.0 technology and a 4000 mAh battery, the OPPO Reno4 Pro doesn’t compromise on slimness and weight, at just 7.6 mm and 172 grams. Its 6.5″ curved AMOLED screen – with a 90 Hz refresh rate – and ultra-thin 2.7 mm bezels make it a pleasure to look at as well as to hold.

In terms of design, Reno4 and Reno4 Pro feature Reno Glow, an exclusive new finish made up of over a million tiny crystals that reflect light like diamonds, giving the back surface a unique gradation of colors. This process not only offers incredible smoothness, but also makes surfaces insensitive to fingerprints and improves wear resistance compared to ordinary glass finishes.

State-of-the-art technology

Reno4 and Reno4 Pro are both equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 5G processor and support 5G SA and NSA networks. Thanks to the 360° Surround 2.0 antenna, 5G download speed is increased by 20% in weak signal environments and by 30% when using Wi-Fi.

For its part, the OPPO Reno4 Z is equipped with the 5G MTK Dimensity 800 processor, which also supports SA and NSA networks and significantly reduces power consumption. And, with a dual-sensor front camera as well as an ultra-wide-angle 48 MP rear sensor, it also offers all the photographic versatility users expect. Finally, its large 8 GB RAM capacity and 128 GB storage make the OPPO Reno4 Z a remarkable 5G smartphone, all about design, performance and versatility.

Prices and availability

OPPO Reno4 Pro, with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, is available in Galactic Blue and Space Black, at a recommended retail price of €799 incl. VAT.

OPPO Reno4, with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, is available in Galactic Blue and Space Black, at a recommended retail price of €549 incl. VAT.

OPPO Reno4 Z, with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, is available in Ink Black and Rose White, at a recommended retail price of €379 incl. VAT.

The OPPO Reno4 series will go on sale on October 22, 2020.
