MIRAVAL MUSE 2018
After its launch at the Cannes Festival,
‘Muse de Miraval’ becomes the most expensive Rosé in the world
Rated Best Rosé in the World by Wine Spectator magazine, Miraval not only caused a sensation at Cannes with its new wine ‘Muse de Miraval’, but also at the prestigious rosé auction held on May 24, 2019. Unveiled as a preview at the Cannes Festival, ‘Muse de Miraval’ was sold for the first time at this exceptional auction, at a price of 2,600 euros. Available exclusively in magnum format, ‘Muse de Miraval’ thus became the world’s most expensive rosé.
Marc Perrin (Famille Perrin): “ To imagine Muse de Miraval is to transcend the heart of Miraval. Muse de Miraval is an intense, rare elixir, the quintessence, the very soul of Miraval. More than an even more intense Miraval Rosé, it’s a re-orchestration of the wine to bring out its noblest aspects, highlighting what lies at the heart of Miraval: the grapes of Provence and its limestone soil. Such a unique and rare wine demands nothing less than a meticulous presentation, handcrafted by an artist who respects the Miraval philosophy. The choice of a magnum was an obvious one, as we consider it to be the most beautiful bottle of all.”
The spirit of Miraval is reflected in each of the estate’s wines, and in the care taken at every stage of their production. Made from a rigorous selection of the château’s two finest and oldest plots, ‘Muse de Miraval’ is the finest expression of this unique terroir. Vinified in egg-shaped concrete vats, this long-ageing rosé is also aged in very limited quantities in demi-muids. Each fragrance evokes a chapter in the history of Miraval, reflecting the place and flavors of the Provence estate. A uniquely shaped bottle (only available in magnum) and an incomparable rosé wine come together to celebrate Miraval’s timeless style in an exclusive way (only 2,000 magnums were produced in 2018).
