Sulfur Numérique by Jitrois
The new Jitrois PE 2018 collection is part of the mutation of creative codes and transgression. Life augmented by social networks and the digital revolution fascinates
artistic director Jean Claude Jitrois.
The designer gives pride of place to the relationship between skin, leather and click. The concept of second skin now extends to our digital bodies.
The PE 2018 collection incorporates this digital social dimension of the individual. In an age of webcams, chats and total interconnection, Jitrois second skin stimulates renewed interaction. At the center, the liberated individual, the wearer of jitrois becomes his or her own stylist, thanks to the designer who
brings substance and matter to it.
Themes revolve around Augmented Life for all; voyeurism, exhibitionism, selfies, behaviors are liberated on all networks, from soft to hard, by the “digital natives” from the YouTube generation to the YouPorn generation.
Jean-Claude Jitrois enriches the collection with this new subversive vision, while remaining true to his crest line between the chic and the louche, in the real and the virtual. He proposes new fetish garments for an accelerated but still hedonistic society. Women’s and men’s wardrobes intermingle and merge in a telecom mirror effect. The magnetism of materials, the contrasts of second-skin cuts and exuberant volumes, redesign a body in phase with the social relationships of augmented humanity, for the better and for all pleasures.
Jackets are studied through this new angle, playing with SM details enhanced by gold and silver. Classic leather pants are magnified with sultry buckles. The pieces are powerful, confrontational and arouse envy, both physical and virtual. They represent a return to the brand’s paradoxical values: luxurious delicacy and liberated sexuality.
La Maison Jitrois has surrounded itself with Nicolas Santos, Benjamin Kirchhoff and Salvatore Caputo, from the Berlin, Paris and London creative scenes, to interpret the designer’s inspirations and the precision of his gestures.
At the same time, Maison Jitrois is working to deconstruct the status quo of luxury and return to its roots
of multiple subcultures that are underground, sumptuous but always subversive.
