Hublot joins Ferrari for the apotheosis of its GT racing season
From October 26 to 29, the Finali Mondiali event took place at the Mugello circuit near Florence, in a year that marked Ferrari’s 70th anniversary in 2017.
“The Ferrari Finali Mondiali offer an extraordinary atmosphere! The fervor of the brand’s tifosi is palpable, and the drivers are all too happy about the end of the season. And in this anniversary year, the party was all the better for it! It’s a celebration in which we’re delighted to be taking part through our Hublot Techframe watch and our various on-site activities”.
Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot
Every year, Ferrari organizes a big party to celebrate the end of the Grand Turismo racing season, the Finali Mondiali. Customers, tifosi and predominantly red road-going and racing cars come together for a weekend of fun and sharing. Exhibitions of current and historic Prancing Horse models, track christenings, meetings with drivers and Formula 1 demonstrations of pit stops, thrilling acceleration and fast laps were all part of the event. This year’s event had an extra dimension in that it punctuated the festivities of Ferrari’s 70th anniversary year, 2017.
A close long-term partner of Ferrari, Hublot was of course present in a number of ways. On the circuit itself, Hublot’s colors were widely visible. The Safety Car, active during the many races organized over the four days, was also decorated in Hublot colors. Drivers Martin Fuentes and Christophe Hurni, both friends of the Swiss brand, took part in the Ferrari Challenge races in their 488 Challenge cars. Fuentes took part in the North America Trofeo Pirelli series, while the Swiss driver Hurni competed in the Ferrari Challenge Coppa Shell Europe.
A Hublot pop-up store was set up above the paddocks to comfortably welcome friends and customers and enable them to discover the creations of the Nyon manufacturer, in particular the Hublot Techframe Ferrari Tourbillon Chronograph. Unveiled last March at the Baselworld watch show, it pays tribute to Ferrari’s 70th anniversary. It represents the pinnacle of the combined expertise of Italian designers and Swiss watchmakers. Its unusual aesthetic is the work of the in-house Ferrari Design Centre, headed by
Flavio Manzoni. Flavio Manzoni was on hand to explain the inspiration.
