Pomellato launches a collection of 50 unique pieces to celebrate its 50th anniversary and reveals itself in video
AN IMPORTANT ANNIVERSARY, A UNIQUE PROJECT
A surprising chapter that plays with the anti-conformism, creativity, craftsmanship and color that have always been Pomellato’s distinctive values. Founded in Milan in 1967 by Pino Rabolini, the House brings a fashionable and innovative approach to jewelry, bringing forth an idea of ready-to-wear jewelry, at odds with the rituals of Haute Couture. The stones at the heart of Pomellato jewelry, previously unfairly called “semi-precious”, are now described as “New Precious” because they are increasingly rare.
50 unique jewels for 50 years. Energetically reaffirming its pioneering and rebellious spirit, Pomellato reinvents itself with a material never before explored within its own tradition: hard stones. The project is a poetic tale that has found in the Ritratto ring the ideal interpreter, the perfect setting to highlight each stone, all as intense and moving as a painting. A sophisticated operation that treats hard stones in an unconventional way through 50 unique and inimitable pieces, the subjects of a new “New Precious” chapter that reinterprets Pomellato codes by projecting them into the future.

The ring from the Ritratto collection, which today embodies Pomellato’s most exuberant soul, is unveiled in an unprecedented interpretation. The “Portrait-Cut” – an ancient, large-scale Indian cut used to cover portraits and miniatures – reserves ideal space for the central hard stone. The cut of each stone has been positioned on the gems in search of the precise position where the density of veins and colors converge.
Each ring is a “painting”, a precise and exciting narrative in which the voluminous claw also participates, a functional element that becomes decorative, paved with precious stones: from Paraiba tourmalines to haüynes, emeralds to brown diamonds, rubies to sapphires.
A “Couture” approach to creation that has transformed each ring into a painting. Mother Nature’s savoir-faire becomes beauty, emotion and enchantment. Pomellato’s taste for organic, irregular shapes captures the veins and patterns of hard stones as veritable works of art. The art that Nature expresses in an inimitable and unique way, just like each piece of jewelry created for the Maison’s fiftieth anniversary.
