Apple has updated the entire iMac range, integrating for the first time a spectacular new Retina 4K display on the 21.5-inch iMac, as well as the Retina 5K display on all 27-inch iMacs. Thanks to an expanded gamut and stunning image quality, the new Retina displays make photos and videos more immersive and faithful. The updated iMacs also feature more powerful processors and graphics, two Thunderbolt 2 ports and new storage options that make the high-performance Fusion Drive even more affordable.
Apple today also introduced a new range of wireless accessories, including the all-new Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2. The Magic devices have been redesigned for greater convenience, and feature rechargeable batteries that completely eliminate the need for disposable batteries. What’s more, the new Magic Trackpad 2 brings the benefits of Apple’s revolutionary Force Touch interface to desktop computers, adding a new dimension to the iMac experience.

On the Retina display, text is sharper than ever, videos are incredibly realistic and your photos reveal an unprecedented level of detail. The 21.5-inch iMac is available with an all-new Retina 4K display featuring an incredible resolution of 4,096 x 2,304 pixels – that’s 9.4 million pixels and 4.5 times more than on the standard 21.5-inch iMac. Each 27-inch iMac is equipped with a Retina 5K display, the highest resolution ever offered on an all-in-one computer, with 14.7 million pixels – 7 times more than an HD display. Now that the 21.5-inch iMac and all 27-inch iMacs are equipped with a Retina display, iMac with Retina display has never been so affordable.
The new Retina displays deliver a wider color gamut, resulting in more faithful and vivid colors. With standard sRGB displays, many of the colors you normally perceive are never reproduced on your screen. The new Retina 5K and 4K displays feature a P3-based gamut that offers a 25% wider color space, and with more colors available, images are brighter, more detailed and more faithful than ever.
Faster and more powerful than ever, the new 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display is now equipped with sixth-generation Intel Core processors and the latest high-performance graphics from AMD, capable of delivering up to 3.7 teraflops of computing power. The new 21.5-inch iMac with Retina 4K display is equipped with a fifth-generation Intel Core processor and enhanced Intel Iris Pro Graphics. All iMacs now come with two Thunderbolt 2 ports, offering data transfer speeds of up to 20 Gbit/s for external drives and high-speed peripherals. And thanks to tri-stream 802.11ac Wi-Fi, the iMac offers wireless connectivity of up to 1.3 Gbit/s*.
Fusion Drive combines the high storage capacities of a hard disk with the high performance of flash storage, for quicker start-up and faster access to apps and files. Fusion Drive works in tandem with OS X to adapt to the way you use your iMac, automatically moving the files and apps you use most frequently to flash storage. The Fusion Drive’s excellent performance is even more accessible thanks to a new, more affordable configuration that combines a 1TB hard disk with 24GB of fast flash storage. The Fusion Drive is also available with 2 and 3 TB drives combined with 128 GB of flash storage for more demanding tasks. The all-new Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2 are more comfortable, efficient and environmentally friendly.
