To prolong the summer, Ballantine’s called on Brazilian artist and graphic designer Fernando Volken Togni to imagine the new very limited edition Ballantine’s Brasil bottle.
Ballantine’s Brasil is a 35% alc. Scotch whisky-based spirit, partially macerated with Brazilian lime peel, born of the meeting of Scottish know-how and an age-old Brazilian custom of adding lime to cocktails.
It’s the maceration of freshly dried lime peel in whisky casks that gives Ballantine’s Brasil its subtle citrus freshness, delicate and uncompromising of Ballantine’s premium quality.
This year, Ballantine’s Brasil signs a unique limited edition with the Brazilian designer Fernando Volken Togni.
The tradition of Scotland, the colors of Brazil: these are the characteristics that make Ballantine’s Brasil original, and which the artist Fernando Volken Togni has materialized in this limited edition.
Born in Roca Sales, a small town in the lush Taquari Valley, artist Fernando Volken Togni now lives in London. He adopts a highly personal illustrative style that seeks to emphasize precise details and makes bold use of color. His compositions are complex, balanced and full of life, teeming with precise elements through which he strives to create an “organized chaos of meaning”.
For this limited edition, Fernando Volken Togni has created a vividly symmetrical composition in the shape of a crest to mark the encounter between Scotch whisky and Brazilian lime. The shapes (parrot, tartan…) illustrate the unparalleled balance between urban and modern Brazil, while blending perfectly with Scottish heritage.

This is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to combine my work with my native country. Ballantine’s has always been my favorite whisky. On September 16, just 10 bottles will go on sale exclusively on the BarPremium.com website, at a guide price of 100 euros.
