We’re just modest bloggers and passionate journalists, we don’t denounce anything except faults of taste or botched product launches. We don’t get shot at in war zones, we don’t expose politico-financial scandals, we don’t risk our lives with every post. We’re a medium devoted to trivial matters compared to the lives of our fellow journalists who died today. But we cannot condone, accept or imagine what happened today.
Lulled by these illustrators since childhood, a part of our innocence died with them.
So today, I’m writing this post as a cry of rage. Hatred, violence, obscurantism, extremism and racism have no place on this earth. They are the weapons of cowards and ignoramuses.
Beyond our differences and origins, beyond our convictions. Let’s hug our loved ones, call our friends, smile at our neighbor.
Let us all unite around our love of freedom and fraternity. May every outburst of hatred provoke thousands of reactions of love and solidarity.
Tonight, we are all Charlie!
