Hippy chic at Saint Laurent Paris. As with the women’s collection, Hedi Slimane invited us to the Carreau du Temple in central Paris for the Saint Laurent Paris men’s collection. And it’s become a habit: a dark room, impressive lighting for the staging, and very loud music (this time Mystic Braves, who composed the soundtrack especially for the show) but so beautiful. The men arrive, always with the same attitude: very thin, very young, long hair and big hats. This time, the designer transports us to the 70s, from Morocco to Spain, without forgetting to sprinkle Yves Saint Laurent codes throughout the wardrobe. The suit, the tuxedo jacket, the embroidered blazer, the jacket studded with rhinestone stars, the large scarf worn nonchalantly, the cape or even the poncho in its luxury version and, of course, the djellabah … The list is long, the proposals multiple for a wardrobe as rock’n’roll & chic as ever. The silhouettes follow one another, and the energy emanating from them does not diminish; on the contrary, it increases tenfold until Hedi Slimane’s exit, as brief and shy as ever.
