Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche invites Poltrona Frau and Vincent Darré for an exhibition from May 10 to June 21, 2014. The Italian furniture designer and publisher take over the rue de Sèvres shop windows and the exhibition space under the glass roof on the 2nd floor, for an exceptional
conversation.

A child’s dream for Vincent Darré, who has imagined a series of surrealistic scenes for the windows, in which, like a black-and-white film, a succession of different interiors will appear. Creations by Maison Darré and Poltrona Frau furniture, reinterpreted for the occasion, will be staged like a film projection. Passers-by will be drawn to retro TVs showing the short film “L’oeil éclipse la lune”, a tribute to the films of the 1920s. The film, directed by Vincent Darré for D’Days 2013, tells the story of Poltrona Frau’s Lyra armchair and its Dadaist encounters with unreal muses Arielle Dombasle and Catherine Baba.

Under the glass roof on the 2nd floor, visitors can discover the Salon à Ciel Ouvert, built around a folding screen, a fragment of a Parisian eccentric’s mansion. In this multi-colored space, the conversation between Poltrona Frau icons and
original pieces by Maison Darré will give rise to a series of limited edition furniture.

For the first time, this exhibition will feature an animal wallpaper designed by Valérie Lemercier for Maison Darré. A touch of humor for this exhibition in homage to cinema.
