Martineau presented its Soleil de Nuit collection today in a warm Ladurée salon.
With three centuries of history behind it, the Maison Martineau has slowly but surely earned its place in the field of souvenir and religious object manufacture. Working with metal, wood and resin is paramount, and the major luxury leather goods manufacturers and saddleries trust Martineau for the metal finishes found on iconic bag models.
Martineau is also an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company), a label that rewards French companies with excellent craftsmanship. Confident of its value and capabilities, Martineau has decided to enter a whole new field, but as always, never lightly.
And so the Soleil de Nuit collection was born. The fruit of 25 years’ research, Martineau has developed an innovative and unique resin that stores natural daylight and restores it once in the shade. And sometimes it only takes a few minutes to achieve a result. These resin beads are infused with glitter, giving them a trendy edge. The jewels are all handmade in France, which is remarkable.
The first part of this collection is designed for the evening, with larger necklaces, bracelets and earrings. The image of the sun is very present. The necklaces and chains are gold-plated. The resin beads, meanwhile, come in warm colors like pink and orange, as well as cooler ones like green, blue and violet. Once worn, these pieces quickly make an impression. When combined with a simple outfit, photoluminescent pearls and suns play their luminous role perfectly!
The second part of the collection is the most recent; called “city”, the jewels in it are more discreet and perhaps more wearable for the more timid among us. The single-pearl pendants are very simple, but come in a range of colors; if you want to make a statement, opt for the large-chain necklace or matching bracelet. In all cases, we applaud the finesse of the work and the voluptuousness of the pearls, which we can’t take our eyes off.
