His return in March 2007 was the most spectacular comeback on the pop scene, with his legendary hits taken up in chorus by a conquered public. These concerts drew crowds of over a million, across all generations. An incandescent icon and a fearsomely gifted composer, Michel Polnareff has left no one indifferent since the release of his first album, “La poupée qui fait non”, on May 26, 1966. A DVD has just been released and is already topping the sales charts.

His unmistakable style, a blend of pop, rock and classical melodies, his looks, his film scores and his hits have accompanied a country in the throes of change, as it assaults a new century. Michel Polnareff and his songs are part of our heritage and our history.

For the first time, a double DVD lets you relive the magic of the artist’s TV appearances, from his debut on May 7 1966 in “Vient de paraître” to the clip for “Kama-Sutra” in 1989.

On the second DVD, you’ll find two important programs from the artist’s career. “A Bout portant (January 6, 1972) and Show Michel Polnareff (January 2, 1976).

Michel Polnareff’s influence on the French musical landscape, and even beyond, on our society, is obvious. So it’s no coincidence that over 80 personalities have agreed to write testimonials about the artist’s influence, their vision of his personality and their memories of this counter-cultural genius for the booklet of the collector’s version of this double DVD.

In anticipation of a new album from the artist in the near future, this double DVD retraces in images and song the extraordinary career of a fundamentally unconventional artist.
