We rarely talk to you about television, but we love Top Chef! Luxsure attended the show’s launch conference in the presence of jury member Ghislaine Arabian. For the impatient, there’s only a week to wait. Top Chef kicks off on Monday 20 January at 8.50pm on M6.
And the first images of the show are very appealing. This new season promises to be explosive and rich in emotion. While we won’t reveal all the secrets of season 5, here are a few details to whet your appetite. For the 1st time in Top Chef, 10 former candidates are making their comeback. Pierre Augé, Ruben Sarfati, Noémie Honiat and Quentin Bourdy all return to the competition. Only a few will be able to compete against the 12 new candidates in season 5.
In terms of events, the classics are still there, but even more impressive events are planned. For example, candidates will have to cook in a gondola at a height of 45 meters. They’ll also have the honor of being judged by Michelin Guide inspectors. A televisual performance, since an original scenography has been set up to preserve their anonymity.
This new season is finally marked by sharing and generosity. Thanks to a competition in collaboration with Secours Populaire, Top Chef raised enough money to send 60 children to the seaside. And of course, no food was wasted during the show, with the Red Cross receiving over 6 tons of food to feed 700 families.
M6 continues to develop its digital and connected TV business. That’s why the 6play application (computer, IPhone, Ipad) will play a major role in this 5th season. The app features all the cooking recipes from the 1st season, as well as quizzes and photos from the shoot. You can also put yourself in the shoes of the jury by evaluating the candidates, or buy kitchen utensils. Finally, it will be possible to tweet directly from the application and see the best tweets.
