Sébastien Tellier’s long-awaited album “Confection”, due for release on October 14, today unveils its very first video clip, “L’amour naissant”. The black-and-white clip was directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino, who also designed the album cover.
It shows French actress Anne Mouglalis and model Clément Chabernaud on a beach, far apart but face to face, with Sébastien Tellier as master of this ceremony of love and budding romance. As usual, Jean-Baptiste Mondino’s video is sober, romantic and somewhat enigmatic.
As for the music, the rhythmic drum tune is strangely reminiscent of his signature track “La Ritournelle”. And yes, Tony Allen is back alongside Sébastien Tellier, as he was on his second album, “Politics“. This first single heralds an album that we know will be almost entirely instrumental, returning to Tellier’s musical genesis.
As previously announced, Sébastien Tellier will be performing at La Cigalle as part of the Ile-de-France Alter Ego festival on October 12, accompanied by Tony Allen on drums and a chamber orchestra.
