Rihanna returned to New York Fashion Week in style to present the extravagant FENTY PUMA by RIHANNA Spring/Summer 2018 collection in the grandiose setting of Park Armory amid pink sand dunes and motocross riders performing aerial tricks. Faced with such a feat, the crowd of fashion fans from all over the world were blown away by this collection where chic beachwear meets sexy motorsports style. Once again, FENTY PUMA by RIHANNA created a sensation by fusing luxury and sport in a way that only Rihanna and PUMA can.

« This collection embodies the meeting of two worlds: motocross and surfing. Bringing them together was a challenge, but it really was the winning combination, » enthuses Rihanna.

True to the DNA of FENTY PUMA by RIHANNA, Rihanna continues to play with unisex silhouettes, oversized formats and sexy, close-fitting models. Favorite pieces from the collection are reinvented in new fabrics and seasonal colors. The classic tracksuit adopts a surf attitude with fluorescent stretch and ultra-light rubber-coated leather. The famous lace leggings are reinterpreted with bungee cords and scalloped cut-outs in pop colors like Cherry Tomato, Bae and Evening Blue. Among the most striking details are two stylish and totally original proposals from Rihanna: the triptych and distorted checkerboard overlays are featured on best-sellers such as long-sleeved crew neck T-shirts, short-sleeved T-shirts and hooded maxi-sweatshirts.

The collection continues to surprise with its very first swimwear range, featuring curve-hugging monokinis and sexy bikinis that are just as at home in a streetwear look as they are at a pool party. These swimsuits go perfectly with summer must-haves, including terry hoodies, graphic maxi-sweatshirts, basketball shorts and minishorts. Throughout the collection, fluo accents, wet-effect flocked prints, surf suit-inspired zippers and rubber patches nod to vintage surf culture and extreme water sports.

Paying homage to PUMA’s history with motorsports, Rihanna transformed classic racing outfits into catwalk looks featuring technical materials such as lightweight leathers, nylon and Air Tech mesh. Technical racing suits, racing pants with checkered flag graphics, sporty stickers and other motorsports-inspired details make the passion for speed a new trend that’s here to stay.

The Creeper shoe is revamped in neoprene materials, has thick, dizzying translucent soles and tension straps for laces. Sexy heeled flip-flops, high sandals with ankle straps and shoes feature a PUMA feline on the heel.

And what would Spring/Summer be without new FENTY flip-flops? This time, they come in an espadrille version or as pool flip-flops in leather and neoprene. The Deep Forest Green, Triple Black and Golden Beige boots are enhanced by sock-like details, turnbuckles and gorgeous, supple suede leather.

From maxi tote bags to generous metallic duffel bags and chokers, all feature the FentyxPUMA logo. Visors and classic baseball caps with signature nylon straps and rubber-coated clips sit alongside logo-cut hats and bobs. The unique Scuba Duffle bag, several backpacks and a giant banana bag complete the range of seasonal accessories.

Rihanna imagined the concept for this season’s show with teams from FENTY, PUMA and creative agency Prodject. Styling by Alastair McKim (Art & Commerce). Make-up was generously provided by FENTY Beauty, Rihanna’s new brand. James Kaliardos, Fenty Beauty’s official make-up artist, led the backstage team alongside international make-up artists Hector Espinal and Priscilla Ono. Hairstyles were created by Yusef Williams of Factory Downtown and styling tools supplied by Dyson Supersonic. Nail polish supplied by Young Nails Inc, and manicure by Tracey Reierson of Young Nails Inc and Maria Salandra (Vision Nation Artists). Jewelry supplied by Lynn Ban. Models cast by DM Casting. Motocross riders from the FreestyleMX.com tour also took part in the show.
