For Spring-Summer 2027, the House of AMBUSH® sets aside pure technical performance to explore patina — wear as a signature. A way of rethinking utilitarian clothing as menswear looks for a language between function and memory.
Clothing as shelter, the body as territory
AMBUSH®’s Spring Summer 2027 collection does not open with a parade of silhouettes but with an idea of displacement. The pieces are conceived for a wearer suspended between two places, in permanent transition between cities, climates and memories. Jackets close like shelters against the wind; trousers fold and shift with repeated creases. The whole works less as a wardrobe than as a collection of objects gathered over the course of a journey, bearing traces of movement and time.
This logic of clothing as shelter rests on a vocabulary that remains, in principle, that of workwear: utilitarian structures, technical fastenings, modular systems, reinforced surfaces. But the House takes care to specify that nothing, in the execution, should look rigid — each piece is softened by touch, weather and movement itself. The fabrics retain the memory of rain, the hardware tarnishes like metal left outdoors for years. The garment is no longer an object fixed at the moment of purchase: it evolves through use, routine, repetition.
Patina rather than performance
The choice of palette illustrates this stance. AMBUSH® draws its shades from elemental environments altered by time and exposure: oxidised copper, deep cobalt, moss, coal dust, wet concrete reflecting a distant light, forest shadows at dusk, combustion residues. These are not applied colours but colours that seem to have passed through something. The collection thus erases the usual boundary between nature and technology: roots break through the asphalt, fluorescent light is reflected in puddles, synthetic fabric merges with fog.
The wolf and the carabiner, two recurring motifs
Two objects structure the season’s symbolic vocabulary. The wolf appears in touches, an emotional presence associated with instinct, survival, solitude and movement in the dark. The carabiner, for its part, returns as one of AMBUSH®’s recurring objects: a piece of industrial hardware diverted into a functional device, both connector and fastening, linking the body to everything it carries. The collection’s jewellery extends this idea through floral forms, like fragments picked up at the roadside or kept between the pages of a notebook.

Detail — the carabiner, a recurring object in AMBUSH®’s vocabulary, acts as a connector between the body and accessories: jewellery, fastening and carrying system merge in a single piece of hardware.
A geography rather than a season
SS27 is built from moments rather than looks: a station platform before daybreak, the wind pushing against the nylon, a cold piece of jewellery against the skin, mud dried on the sole of a boot after too long a walk. The collection seeks neither escape nor permanence, but observation — a uniform conceived for those who are still learning to cross the world with attention.
By choosing wear as narrative material rather than novelty as argument, AMBUSH® joins a broader movement in contemporary technical clothing, where value no longer lies in displayed performance but in an object’s capacity to age with its wearer. It remains to be seen whether this aesthetic of patina will survive the test of ready-to-wear in store, where the garment, for its part, must first seduce when new.
