Hotel Barrière Le Westminster – Le Touquet
Charm and timelessness: coming & going
A seaside getaway just two hours from Paris.
Fine sand dunes adorned with oyats.
A sea with iridescent reflections under the setting sun.
Nature sublimated by the unique light of the Côte d’Opale.
For over a century, the friendly seaside resort of Le Touquet has been a unique destination in the heart of Europe.
The “West”, an iconic hotel
The Hôtel Westminster was built in 1924 to replace a charming wooden casino. It was named after the Duchess of Westminster, godmother of the military hospital set up in the casino’s lounges during the Great War. The architect was Auguste Bluysen. His specialty? Seaside and social buildings.
During the Roaring Twenties, the “West” became a meeting place for the jet-set. The establishment’s guest book bears witness to its illustrious guests: the Prince of Wales, Lord Mountbatten and even the Aga Khan frequented the place.
Closed during the Second World War, the Westminster reopened as a hotel in 1946. For a time, it was owned by the Barrière group, before reverting to ownership in May 2016.
Today, the teams at Le Westminster continue this tradition of welcoming Touquet chic. The décor is Art Deco. The magic begins in the lobby, with its spacious volumes punctuated by woodwork, ironwork, lighting and superb “twin” elevators.
The corridor leading to the Restaurants displays black-and-white portraits of illustrious visitors. With a signature and a comment, all have left their mark.
Elegance, comfort & refinement
The magic continues in the sumptuous rooms with their elegant, refined decor, spread over 4 floors: silky fabrics, crystal chandeliers, plush carpets, practical closets, lithographs… Retro style blends harmoniously with modern comfort, thanks to interior designers Christine and Nicola Borella. The couple highlighted three themes characteristic of the Touquet sports scene: polo, sailing and golf.
The furnishings and closets, which bring a hushed modernism, are by Maison Leleu: Jules Leleu, the founder, was originally from Boulogne-sur-Mer. He was the leading designer of his day. Full of charm, these rooms offer a decor conducive to sweet dreams, with views of Le Touquet, the park or the lighthouse.

THE PAVILION: SHOWCASING FLAVORS
A symbol of tradition and Touquet chic, Le Pavillon, which boasts one Michelin star, invites you on a gastronomic journey led by its Michelin-starred Chef William Elliott. His philosophy? “Respecting the taste and quality of products, that’s the simplicity of good cooking.
William Elliott makes the most of local produce. He loves discovering original flavors and creating unexpected combinations that invite you to dream and travel. His delicate, inventive cuisine will delight your taste buds.
To enhance his “marvelous art of the ephemeral”, he works with French designer Elisabeth Monroy to “dress” his dishes: each support (slate, porcelain, glass) is in harmony with the dish on offer.
A prestigious wine cellar
Supervised by Yann Satin, Belgium’s best sommelier in 2005, the Cave à Vin du Westminster boasts 25,000 bottles and over 600 references. Yann Satin regularly visits the vineyards in search of quality winemakers in all French appellations.
