A history of perfume, the Maison Detaille, a unique French savoir-faire!
In 1905, the Comtesse de Presle created the Maison Detaille. She was very modern for her time, owning an automobile (which was exceptional). While driving her convertible, the wind dried out her skin. So she asked a chemist friend to create a moisturizing and protective ointment. The result was Baume Automobile, considered to be the company’s first beauty preparation.
This non-greasy fluid with protective properties forms a genuine barrier against external aggression. Zinc oxide and all the minerals it contains matify and soften the skin, while wheat proteins tighten it. Used as a base for make-up, the balm also improves hold.
Active ingredients: wheat proteins, organic orange blossom and rose floral waters, glycerine, zinc oxide and kaolin. Paraben-free, suitable for all skin types. Price: 75 euros for 125ml,
Detaille has retained the original formulas of these products while adapting them to modern constraints, and now offers a range of beauty care products as well as eau de toilettes for women and men, and eaux de Cologne.
There are five fragrances each for men and women. For men, the names are evocative of sport: Miles, Par 4, Yachting, Aéroplane, Escrimeur. For women, the names are softer and more feminine: Sofia, Dolcia, Shéliane, 1905 (which is the classic Maison Detaille fragrance) and Alizée.
Men’s and women’s fragrances are priced the same: 30ml for 49 euros and 100ml for 80 euros.
Eaux de Cologne call on sweet, timeless names: Cherub, Paradisii, Fleur.
You’ll find them at 69 euros per 100ml.
The bottles reflect the brand’s history, imprisoning delicate scents of fresh, powdery perfumes.
