Sleek silhouettes and ultra-worked materials: that’s how the new 1205 collection could be summed up. Designer Paula Gerbase completely reinterprets the basics of women’s wardrobes, highlighting layering, volume and embellishment, the theme chosen for the autumn/winter season. Knitwear is worn as long dresses, sweaters, sleeveless coats and pleated skirts. White shirts play with transparency or coordinate with pants or an apron skirt. The parka is ultra-light and tight at the waist. It’s easy to see that the embellishments are to be found in the delicate aspect of the materials, in the very precise construction of the garments. A certain uniformity of neutral colors (navy, gray, white, khaki) is the hallmark of this designer, who comes from Savile Row and the world of tailoring, and whose purity and depth of garment remain essential. And don’t forget these wrap-around mesh tube dresses to slip on and keep for a lifetime…
