On October 18, the Ambassadors’ Night, the capital’s biggest fancy dress party, took place at the heart of the Le Bourget exhibition center, a venue kept secret until the last minute, which was transformed for the occasion into a futuristic city to welcome Odyssey 5069.
But what was behind the creation of Les Ambassadeurs, now a cult event in the nightlife world? We put a few questions to Sophie Levy, producer and organizer (with her husband) of the evening.

Sophie Levy: When I started out, my husband (Nicolas Levy) and I had an agency called “Les Peupliers productions”. It was the first agency in France to organize evenings in unlikely places, with a particular theme and featuring a brand. The brand was promoted using its own codes and values, aided by decorations and actors. We then created Les Ambassadeurs in 2002.
The main characteristic of the Ambassadeurs is that each year the proposed theme is different, and Sophie explains how they make their choice:
Sophie Levy: First of all, we choose the venue to set the tone, then the theme. It can be completely in tune with the venue, like the XVI Kingdoms tournament at the Château de Vincennes the previous year, or it can be something a little offbeat, like the Marie Antoinette is not dead evening, which took place 8 years ago, in a modern rock and roll atmosphere.
For the 2014 edition, over 4,000 guests were invited aboard Odyssey 5069, a futuristic city rebuilt in Le Bourget.
Extensive scenography and immaculate white decoration, inflatable domes… a peaceful, serene zone was created to ward off any negative thoughts, anger and thus gain access to the bosom of this utopian better world.
Sophie Levy: First of all, we chose this theme because of the location. Secondly, we hadn’t done a futuristic theme, so we wanted to contrast with the previous year as well. We’re following on from Chaos 2099, from two years ago, and we’ll be talking about the survivors of this extraordinary camp.
From 10.30pm to 5am, in partnership with Grey Goose and their igloo-shaped bar, and Schweppes, also present on the cards, guests enjoyed a wide range of entertainment, from a cloud pool to earlobe massages, food trucks and the chance to consult a fortune-teller about your past.
Everyone was there to discover the evening’s line-up. Pedro Winter, Na ‘Sayah, César Merveille and Mirko Loko set the pace for a long night of partying. All the ingredients were there to transport you into the ever more creative and offbeat world of Les Ambassadeurs.
